By starting and running an art gallery, Aluminij has proved its keen sense of cultural, artistic values and created a form of cultural policy whose aim is to develop, rather than maintain the cultural patrimony, with the intention of ennobling the reality of everyday life. Prominent poet Admiral Mahić wrote down in his comment about his experiences when visiting the Gallery Aluminij: Here is the light, I said to myself and stepped into the Gallery Aluminij.
In reflecting on Gallery Aluminij, an art critic Zlatko Gall said that a hat really had to be tipped off to the company which at the time of the universal callousness, shared its wealth and well-being with others, with own people and neighbourhood. His colleague, a critic Milan Bešlić, followed by the words: I am glad that in Mostar I can see the Gallery Aluminij that complies with all European standards, I am glad that the standard of spirituality that can welcome every artist who comes from any point in Europe is recognized in here, because this kind of space make this city European, and therefore there is no need to rush towards it because we are already there. The world famous Croatian scientist Davor Pavuna said that his experience of the showroom of the Gallery Aluminij is unsurpassed.
- It would equally make me feel like as if I am in the Fifth Avenue in New York or in a gallery space somewhere in the streets of Paris or Tokyo, and you should be proud of this, because you are very privileged - enthusiastically said Pavuna under the warm lights of the Gallery Aluminij. The Dubrovnik art historian Marin Ivanović called it the most reputable exhibition space from Split and Dubrovnik to Sarajevo.
Commenting on her own exhibition in Mostar, Dubravka Babić said with enthusiasm: It is the pleasure to exhibit in one so very well designed gallery, adjusted for all possible exhibitions of the painting, drawing, graphics and sculpture kind.
The Gallery Aluminij carefully nurtures an exhibitor-museum activity by promoting academic visual arts, and in its Salon 1 hosts respectable artistic names, while at the Salon 2 enables the presentation of the artists on the rise, while maintaining the academic level. The only exceptions are made in organizing joint humanitarian and historical–documentary exhibitions.
- The Gallery has become a reason for the long waiting on the waiting list, provided that the criteria are strict, i.e. fair: the academic and artistic achievements are cherished. If it was not for this Gallery some artist would never had an opportunity to express themselves - on one occasion said an art connoisseur and travel writer Dragan Marjanović, while the rector of the University of Mostar Ljerka Ostojić wrote down that she was glad that Mostar had one of such representative building, and he added: Whenever I have an opportunity I proudly point that fact out.
Except for its primary intention - the cultivation and promotion of artistic creativity – the Gallery is a pleasant place for presentations of literary achievements, chamber concerts and similar events. The Gallery is open every working day from 7 am to 8 pm, and on Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm. The admission has always been free.
