The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković and the Vice President of the Croatian Parliament, Milijan Brkić, accompanied by a multi-member Croatian delegation of the highest level, visited Aluminij d.d. Mostar, where they were hosted by the Croatian member of the Presidency of BiH Dragan Čović, CEO of Aluminij Mario Gadžić with his closest associates and the Company`s President of the Supervisory Board Dalibor Miloš.
The visit to Aluminij was the forerunner of the opening ceremony of the International Mostar Fair 2017, which was opened by the Croatian Prime Minister who represented the Fairs`s this year`s partner country. Otherwise, the Government of the Republic of Croatia owns 12% of the ownership stake in Aluminij and therefore they are very interested in the current situation, as well as in the strategic plans, and a vision of the Herzegovinian giant`s future.
Noting the importance of Aluminij for the stability of the entire BiH, the President Čović closely addressed the latest positive indicators in the Aluminij`s business. By expressing his support to the Company`s Board and their business efforts, Čović invited the Prime Minister Plenković to jointly create political grounds for the development of a more intensive cooperation of Aluminij with the Croatian economic entities, as well as the strengthening of the overall economic ties of these two countries. CEO and the SB President of Aluminij have informed the Prime Minister Plenković about the last half-year period in which Aluminij was pulled out of the bankruptcy and directed towards its recovery. He was also introduced with a key mid-term and long-term plans that could include a series of economic entities from the Republic of Croatia, for the benefit of the development and growth of both economies.
By reiterating that Croatia is a special friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially its Euro-Atlantic route, Plenković expressed the joy of the Aluminij`s recovery as the Company that predominates in connecting BiH with the world, but it also generates new development projects and ensures the future with new jobs, in which Croatia recognizes the possibilities of its more active involvement.
The Croatian Prime Minister has invited the Aluminij`s top people to communicate directly with ministers in his government, about projects that open the possibility of support and partnerships of the Republic of Croatia or companies from the Republic of Croatia at the further stages of the Aluminij development, which is considered by the Croatian government as strategic capital.
After he had opened the Fair, Plenković addressed on the value and potential of Aluminij in his speech, which was followed by his visit to the Company`s fair stand. The BiH Presidency Chairman Mladen Ivanić also paid his visit to the Company`s stand.
