In the presence of a colleagues from the Management Board of Aluminij d.d. Mostar and Presidency and Assembly of the Independent Employees Union of Aluminij, the President of the Management, Mario Gadžić and President of the IEU Romeo Biokšić have solemnly signed the new Collective Agreement pf Aluminij d.d. Mostar.
After several months of hard work on the preparation of the new Rules of Procedures of Aluminij, the longstanding and complex discussions of the Board and the Union of Herzegovinian giant on the content of the Collective Agreement, both at the level of the leading people and at the level of expert groups and their legal representatives. The negotiations, due to the perseverance of both sides in defence of their arguments, have had ups and downs, which also resulted with the recent strike of the warning in the organization of the IEU, but the agreement was ultimately achieved, and to the joy and the benefit of Aluminij and its working population.
Stressing out that, with negotiations, anything can be achieved, the President of the IEU has, in this case, evaluated the final goal as a way of negotiations, cooperation and understanding.
- The negotiations were demanding and complex, but mutually correct, with respect to the partnership. I thank the negotiating team of the Management Board, the management itself, as well as with my union colleagues, both on the efforts made and on the acceptance of the compromise - commented the President of the IEU of Aluminij, Romeo Biokšić.
Also, clearly satisfied with the conclusion of this venture and with the necessary agreement with the Union body, CEO of Aluminij, Mario Gadžić emphasised in his statement the partner relationship between the Management Board and the IEU.
- The severe deterioration of the conditions in which we have been operating in the second half of this year, whit the emphasis on the unexpected 65 percent increase in electricity prices and the 70 percent rise in the price of silver (our two vital raw materials) are a challenge both for the Board and for the Union and for each individual employee. This is the time when we must close ranks and when we cannot allow divisions. The path to signing this contract was all but easy, but I respect the firm stand of both sides, just as well as the willingness of each one for the necessary compromises. The final content of the Collective Agreement is considerably more favourable to workers than the Rules of Procedures and, I am convinced, both sides can be very pleased with the Agreement - said Gadžić, adding that, with the same energy, the Management and the Union should now also act towards Aluminij Owners, firstly towards the Government of FBiH and regulators for el. energy, with the goal of vital problem, i.e. releasing of Aluminij from the unnecessary duties that burden Aluminij, by claiming as much as 23 million BAM a year, jeopardizing its stability and, ultimately, its survival.
